Kefir is a probiotic drink that has many health benefits! Drinking it daily improved my health, digestion, sleep, mood.. and overall well-being in so many ways (people were getting sick all around me at work and home, but I didn’t catch anything due to the healthy gut bacteria). Although home made kefir is the most potent, making it does have its challenges! Over time, the grains multiply and fermentation occurs faster and faster with the same amount of milk! Unfortunately, I had trouble with the production and couldn’t drink it fast enough. Eventually, I gave them away, and the grains I had left perished. After a while, I longed for that calming feeling in the gut after drinking home made kefir so I asked my aunt for her back-up supplies. She gave me frozen grains (they were frozen for more than 2 years before I defrosted them).
