Done In 5: The Breakfast That Will Change Your Life | Quick and Easy Healthy Overnight Oats

How’s it going guys. Today I’m going to share with you a breakfast that will change your life. It’s super versatile and takes less than 5 minutes to prepare. You can bring it with you to work, school, university, a picnic, you name it. It’s a great grab and go healthy breakfast or dessert (in a smaller portion of course). You can have it cold or warm it up, the sky’s the limit. In this video, I’ll show you three variations a fruit based overnight oats, vegetable based overnight oats, and a dessert based overnight oats. So let’s get started!

The base ingredients for your overnight oats are:
– 75g of rolled oats
– Water or nut milk of your choice to cover the oats
– 1 medium banana thinly sliced
– 1 tsp of honey (if you’re a vegan, date syrup or 100% pure maple syrup)
– Cinnamon to taste

Fruit based mixed berries overnight oats:
– 75g of rolled oats
– Water or nut milk of your choice to cover the oats
– 1 medium banana thinly sliced
– 1 tsp of honey (if you’re a vegan, date syrup or 100% pure maple syrup)
– Cinnamon to taste
– 1 handful of mixed berries

Vegetable based carrot overnight oats:
– 75g of rolled oats
– Water or nut milk of your choice to cover the oats
– 1 medium banana thinly sliced
– 1 tsp of honey (if you’re a vegan, date syrup or 100% pure maple syrup)
– Cinnamon to taste
– 1 small/medium carrot finely crated

Dessert based chocolate and almond butter overnight oats:
– 75g of rolled oats
– Water or nut milk of your choice to cover the oats
– 1 medium banana thinly sliced
– Cinnamon to taste
– 1 heap tsp of almond butter
– 1 thumb’s worth of chocolate finely sliced

These are some of the health benefits of oats:
1. They are very nutritious – high in fibre, protein, and good source of carbs, also packed full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
2. They may help lower blood pressure levels – due to many powerful antioxidants and avenanthramides also have anti-inflammatory and anti-itching effect.
3. They may help lower cholesterol (LDL and total cholesterol) – high is soluble fibre beta-glucan which helps lower cholesterol, promote healthy gut bacteria.
4. They may help lower blood sugar levels – soluble fibre beta-glucan improves insulin sensitivity and lowers blood sugar levels.
5. They may improve gut health – Soluble fibre beta-glucan helps increase growth of good bacteria in the digestive tract.
6. They may help you lose weight – oats are incredibly filling and can help you stay fuller for longer, reducing the chances of snacking and therefore fewer total daily and weekly calories consumed promoting weight loss. It also increase the production of the satiety hormone PYY.

Some of the benefits of overnight oats are:
1. Convenience of grab and go in the morning.
2. It softens the oats having is much easier to digest.
3. It creates a much more creamy and puffy texture.
4. Letting are the ingredients soak and infuse brings all the flavours out.
